Frequently asked questions.
How do I book a session?
The best time to book your newborn session is during your second trimester. I only take a limited number of due dates per month to ensure availability, so the earlier you reach out, the better!
Once you're ready, I’ll send over a contract and invoice. A non-refundable deposit of $50 + half the tax amount is required to reserve your spot. The contract will include a placeholder date, and once your baby arrives, you’ll need to notify me within 2 days of birth so I can send over session options.
Newborn sessions are typically scheduled on Mondays through Thursdays at 10 or 11 AM, with very limited weekend availability (at a premium).
If your baby is already here, don’t worry! reach out as soon as possible for my earliest availability. The ideal window to photograph newborns is under 2 weeks of age, but I do take babies up to 4 weeks old. For preemies, we go based on adjusted age.
Can I bring sentimental items to include in the photos?
Yes! You're welcome to bring one special item to be incorporated into your session: a blanket, a family heirloom, or something meaningful to you. That said, I provide a wide variety of curated, high-quality props and outfits that are designed to photograph beautifully and fit seamlessly with my artistic style.
Can I request specific poses or copy inspiration photos I’ve seen online?
I totally understand wanting to recreate something you loved, but I’ll be honest, it’s not always possible (or practical). Many inspiration photos floating around online are heavily edited, stylized, or created under very specific conditions.
Trying to match them exactly can disrupt the natural workflow of your session and extend the shoot beyond what’s comfortable for your baby. I always prioritize your baby’s safety, comfort, and unique personality, and I promise to create something beautiful that’s true to you.
When is the best time to photograph my newborn?
The sweet spot is between 5–14 days old, when babies are still sleepy and curly. After two weeks, babies tend to become more alert, which can make those classic newborn poses more challenging, though not impossible.
If you’ve missed that window, don’t worry! I happily photograph babies up to 4 weeks old, and sometimes older babies as a more awake, lifestyle-style session. Every baby is different.
Where does the session take place?
All sessions take place in my cozy Allen, TX studio, which is fully stocked with everything you’ll need, wraps, headbands, outfits, props, and even a comfy spot for you to relax while I work with your baby. I’ve created a clean, calm, and peaceful space where families can feel at ease.
Can parents and siblings be included in the session?
Yes! If you'd like to include parents and/or siblings in your session, I offer multiple package options. Be sure to check the package details when booking, my Full and Deluxe sessions include immediate and extended family, while my Mini and Classic sessions is for baby only.
You’re also always welcome to add people to any session at $50/person.
If you’re not sure which session to book, I’m happy to help guide you!
What if my baby doesn’t sleep during the session?
That’s totally okay! I work at your baby’s pace. Some babies are sleepy and snuggly right away, while others need a bit more time to settle. I have lots of tricks to help soothe little ones, and we always allow time for feeding, changing, and cuddles.
Do I need to bring outfits for my baby?
Nope! I have a large selection of studio wardrobe items designed specifically for newborn photography, soft knits, timeless colors, and perfect fits. Everything is washed and sanitized between sessions. If you do have a special outfit you’d like to use, just let me know ahead of time so I can plan around it.
What if my baby has jaundice, baby acne, or skin flakes?
No worries! newborn skin is naturally imperfect, and that’s okay. I hand-edit every image with care, so small blemishes, flakes, and discoloration are gently and naturally retouched to ensure your baby looks their best while still looking like themselves.
When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive your gallery within 2-weeks!
Can I order prints or albums through you?
Absolutely. Your gallery includes access to professional-grade prints, canvases, and albums, ensuring the best color accuracy and quality. These make beautiful gifts and keepsakes that last a lifetime.
I also offer a selection of bundle products at value pricing, thoughtfully curated to help you preserve your baby’s memories in tangible form, perfect for displaying at home or gifting to loved ones. You’ll see these options available in your gallery once your final images are delivered.
I have little ones I want to include in the session with my newborn, what if they don’t cooperate?
That’s completely normal, toddlers and young kids can be unpredictable, especially with all the excitement around a new baby. I’ve worked with many little ones, and I approach sibling photos with patience, playfulness, and zero pressure.
We’ll start with sibling poses early in the session (when energy is freshest), and I’ll use prompts, games, or cuddles to capture sweet moments. If a sibling needs a break or just isn’t feeling it, that’s okay too, I’ll always work with what they’re willing to give and focus on making the experience positive for everyone.
How many photos do I receive in my gallery?
After your session, you’ll receive a gallery with a curated selection of the best images from your session. Typically around 20–60 photos, depending on the package and how the session flows.
Each image you receive is fully edited and delivered in high-resolution, ready for printing, sharing, and cherishing.
