Yes. We begin with clean portraits before introducing the cake so you receive a variety of first birthday images in your finished gallery.
What should my child wear?
You may bring an outfit that coordinates with your selected setup. Simple textures, soft colors, overalls, rompers, and neutral outfits photograph beautifully. We also provide outfits that photograph beautifully.
What if my child does not like the cake?
That is completely okay. Some children eat the cake while others simply play with it or show very little interest. We follow your child's comfort level and still capture their personality.
Do you provide decorations and props?
Yes. The selected setup and coordinating studio props are prepared for you. You are welcome to bring a small meaningful item to personalize the session.
What kind of cake photographs best?
A small 4–6 inch soft cake with simple frosting works best. Avoid very dark frosting colors because they can stain your child's skin and clothing.
How should we prepare for the mess?
Please bring an extra outfit for your child and the adults attending. Wipes and basic cleanup supplies are available at the studio. You can also review our toddler and cake smash preparation guide before your session.
How do you reduce waste during cake smash sessions?
We use reusable inflatable balloon garlands instead of single-use balloons whenever possible, and recommend small baby-sized cakes to reduce unnecessary food waste.
What happens to the remaining cake?
